On June 29th, a special lecture was held by Prof. Li from Beijing Institute of Technology, China.
Title: 「Optical Tweezers Array and its Application to Microfluidic Chip」
Abstract: Microfluidic chips have the advantages of high-performance, multi-functional, miniaturized and cost-effective. Since 1990, it has been used in many fields, such as chemical analysis, cell culture, bioseparation and so on. Cell sorter is also one of its applications. The lecture is going to provide an overview of recent research achievements and applications of microfluidic chips, especially on cell sorter. The microfluidic chips cell sorter has the functions similar with the normal cytometry. It can be used to count and separate cells. The most popular application is counting the blood cell. The principles and functions for each formation of the cell sorter are analyzed. Finally, its applications in biological scientific research and further developments will be introduced.
