On October 28th, a special lecture was held by Prof. Arai from Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University.

Abstract: Lecture on construction method of micromanipulation systems and its application for dealing with micrometer-sized objects was held. For manipulating objects of 1 ~ 100um, design a micro-hand with two fingers, which is based on the parallel mechanism, and then attempt to make a prototype. By integrating this hand with micro vision system, micro force sensor and the human interface, we have developed a micro-manipulation system that can realize the remotely manipulation and autonomously control. The applications of this system are the handling of single cell and tissues in the field of biotechnology, and processing and other operations and so on. With the introduction of the system, provide an outlook of the new direction of research and development.
